Once upon a time (as all good stories should begin), Jeff Crank was born to Jim and Suzanne Crank. Jeff was the third baby in the family and his parents knew he was destined for success. His father Jim instilled three core values in Jeff’s young mind: family, dedication, and respect. These three values are the foundation that Crank’s Catering was built upon.

 

JIM INSTILLED THREE CORE VALUES IN JEFF’S YOUNG MIND: FAMILY, DEDICATION, AND RESPECT.

 

Jeff’s culinary journey started at the age of 9 years old, watching “The Galloping Gourmet.” At the ripe age of 13, Jeff began his first job at Elias Brothers’ Big Boys. He proved to the owners that he had the passion, drive, and talent to cook well so they decided to take their chances! By 14 (yes 14!), he was the head line cook. Jeff became very respected and revered as he worked at various restaurants throughout the Metro-Detroit area. He was mentored by countless top chefs. Jeff realized that he had a knack for creating spectacular dishes. Jeff’s passion, vision, and desire to share his talents along with the lessons his father taught him are the foundation which began what is known as Crank’s Catering and Banquet Centers today.

 

 

Crank’s has grown exponentially. Crank’s Catering is now home to beautiful banquet halls, and exclusive locations throughout Michigan, and a catering lineup of over 1,800 parties each year. Jeff was a pioneer in the catering market and continues to be one to this day. Perhaps one of the greatest compliments is knowing that our very own competitors built their companies on Jeff’s practices. Their desire to be more like Crank’s continues to have us aiming higher and higher each day. As our company has grown, so has our family. We are proud that many family members have chosen to join the Crank’s Catering team. Jeff and the entire Crank family band together with hard work and innovation! Each one of us embraces the guiding principles of family, dedication, and respect. We look forward to proving that to you at your place or ours!
